Research On Support Groups For Ankylosing Spondylitis
Ankylosing Spondylitis has been diagnosed many decades ago and yet there was no support system available for the patients. They bore the pain and the disfigurement. There was no research work, educational material, until 30 years ago. A group of volunteers made a plan to change the entire outlook. In 1983, they founded the Spondylitis Association of America (SAA).
Spondylitis Association of America is located across America. Their supportive program ensures that those facing the disease do not leave you alone without any help.
There have been many breakthroughs in medical and scientific research. There has been a better understanding of the genetic makeup behind the disease leading to discovering more effective medicines and maybe closer to cure. Behind the massive progress, there has been the Spondylitis Association of America. They have 10 years of patient data which has information on health trends, the severity of the disease, age, sex, race and many other things required to understand the disease.
Spondylitis Association of America main aim is to promote early diagnosis and treatment of spondylitis, to promote awareness, improve access to health care and medications for all patients, to increase federal funding for arthritis research, public policy that will impact the lives of spondylitis patients.
